Tell us about your experience.

I have a Graduate Diploma in Education, TESOL Certificate and a Bachelor of Arts (Literature/ History). I have taught Grades 7-11 English in the Australian curriculum and Business English to adults at colleges in Melbourne and Sydney. I am also a former journalist (Fairfax Media, ABC Radio) and I’ve edited a book!

What’s your top tip for success?

Visualise success, take action, ask for help. Start even if you “aren’t perfect”. The universe respects bravery. Small steps each day do add up. You may think that your progress is small or minimal on a daily basis, but keep the faith! When you turn around you will be amazed at how much you have achieved!

Where did you grow up?
I was born in Melbourne but I also grew up in the UK (near Bournemouth) and Switzerland. I came back to Australia when I was 16.

What do you like doing in your spare time? Any hobbies?
I love keeping fit. I am a pilates and yoga devotee. I also run and swim. Hiking in nature is also great for the soul.

What do you do first thing every morning?
Jumping jacks, it helps to wake up my brain. Yoga if I am sluggish!

Do you speak any other languages?
Yes, I speak German (I went to a German-speaking school in Switzerland) I can still speak a little Swiss-German, which is a dialect of German.

What country is on your bucket list to travel to?
Too many to list? I am fascinated to see Iceland. Also, New York city or a dreamy visit to the Amalfi Coast!

What would you like remembered about you?
I am interested, upbeat and helpful.

Who is your number one inspiration?
My parents.

What is your spirit animal?
A cat. I love everything about them. How can you not love cats!

If you could have dinner with one famous person (dead or alive) who would it be?
Audrey Hepburn, although, it’s hard to choose! I would be fascinated to meet George Orwell or Cecilia Payne – she was the first woman astrologist.

How do you take your coffee?

If you could eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be? Green Peas. Sounds boring, but they give me energy!

What’s your favourite movie? I just watched The Sapphires. It’s so good. Red Dog is also an Australian classic.

What would be your superpower?
Being able to end poverty and save every child in need.

What would be the theme song for your life?
Move on Up – Curtis Mayfield

What are you most excited about joining E2School? I can’t wait to join the team. I am truly excited to help all students to maximise their English skills and potential. I can relate to language learners. When I arrived in Switzerland at the age of 7 I could not speak a word of German. I used sign language at school on the first few days! Sometimes people couldn’t understand me and I mixed up words and pronunciation. A year later, I sounded fluent because I was immersed in the language!
